Text Box:
Since 1825, even before Sidney was an organized village, people have been worshiping at the First Presbyterian Church, of Sidney, Ohio.  Naturally, we are very proud of our history.  FPC was the first organized church in Sidney, where faithful church goers met for worship in a log construction that served as the Shelby county seat, courthouse, jail, and "the church”.  The first building for the First Presbyterian Church, which could hold about 580 people, was erected in 1834.  FPC's rich history includes many wonderful stories of how the congregation helped the community in times of crisis, met the needs of the poor, and faithfully preached the gospel.

First Presbyterian Church, of Sidney, Ohio is part of The Presbyterian Church USA.

But, we are even more excited about our future.  FPC has adopted the motto "Growing together in grace, and reaching out in love."  This motto describes our attitude as we minister to the needs of the congregation, and take the gospel to our community and the world.
Our Mission:
"to be a unified yet diverse community of believers whose members joyfully invest their gifts in Christ's continuing Ministry."
Our Vision:
Individually, to be whole and fully alive in Christ.  Corporately, to be a caring, community-focused congregation, using our strengths to help those most in need.
